Full range response. No complaints.
This is the deal breaker. The self disolving ultra-poor design of the critical structural components ...

This is true consumer product garbage. For such a highly regarded company to put their brand on what is a prototype rushed to production half-product is just disgraceful; The swivels will fail within 30 hours of use; the matrix of plastic will crack without any excessive stress. Junk. Keep your 100 to 200 bucks in your jeans and save up to buy Sennheiser. And to be laughed at by the staff at the Sony store is even more reason to avoid.I might not be a big broadcaster but I carry the wallet when it comes to making business decisions and that includes all the gear. Sony should have extended me a courtesy warranty on what is clearly a defective design.

The sound is simply amazing.
Hard to listen to them for a long time.

I have no concerns about sound quality, it is great in DVD, games, music. The only problem it that I still, after a year, can't listen to them for a long time without having my ears burning. They are made so tight (which produces great bass) that your ears are pressed to headphones really hard. When you turn the volume up, after a few hours you will feel really strong pain because of strong vibrations.I'm listening to them all the time, around 8 hours a day. I can handle it only in low volume. In high volume it is staring to hurt after a hour or so. Maybe it is just me.

sound quality, design
swivel arm strength

I've had these headphones for a number of years now and overall I've been very satisfied with them. Lately they've cracked at a crucial joint which makes them nearly useless. As with others, I'm disappointed that they used breakable plastic on such a crucial joint, but they served me well while they lasted. can be turned up loud enough to function as mini speakers, nicely fold up into compact(er) size. Strong enough to handle reggae bass... Looking for better options, but may buy another pair of these...

amazing sound and quality
bulky cord can be annoying

no problems yet, though I did notice that the swivel parts have gotten slightly looser. that might just be from daily use though, and it's not that bad. the sound is really amazing and you'll probably hear instruments you've never even noticed before.the cord is actually fine for home use, but it's definitely something to consider if you're planning to use these for your mp3 player

compact and looks nice
Total and complete crap. The cheap plastic that makes up the frame cracks in 6 different spots.

Total and complete crap. Sony has put a nice look on headphones but still found a way to make me want to hunt them down and beat. I use my USED the mdr-v700 all the time. i cared for them like a small child but still the cheap plastic joints broke. so if you plan on using these headphones dont buy these... they break.
